A changing body needs an intelligent response.

A diagnosis, treatment, surgery or long-term health condition can change far more than physical capacity. It may affect energy, confidence and trust in your body—as well as how safely and comfortably you move.

I work with the person, not simply the condition. Through tailored Pilates and detailed movement analysis, the work is carefully adapted to your health, symptoms and changing needs—helping you rebuild strength, mobility and confidence while continuing, or returning, to the parts of life that matter to you.

The same diagnosis does not create the same body.

Two people with the same condition may experience entirely different symptoms, restrictions and levels of fatigue. Treatment, medication, previous injuries, confidence and what they want to return to all shape the movement work—and capacity may change from one day to the next.

I listen to how the condition is affecting you, observe how your whole body is responding and adapt the support, resistance, range, pace and complexity accordingly. We begin with what is possible now, review how your body responds and progressively build strength, mobility and trust.

Where appropriate, the work complements medical treatment, physiotherapy or rehabilitation guidance. Pilates does not replace clinical care, but it can help translate that care into confident, meaningful movement.

Different starting points. One individual approach.

Health conditions affect movement in different ways. The starting point is always how your body is functioning now, what matters in your life and what would help you feel more capable—not a standard programme based on a diagnosis.

Back Pain & Sciatica

Recurring back pain, diagnosed sciatica, flare-ups or loss of confidence in movement. Qualified Body Control Pilates Back4Good® Practitioner and Low Back Pain Specialist.

Arthritis, pain and persistent joint problems

With osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis and recurring back, neck or joint problems, movement may need to accommodate pain, stiffness, swelling and fluctuating energy. We work to maintain mobility, build support around vulnerable areas and reduce unnecessary compensation without forcing the body.

Cancer, treatment and recovery

Cancer, surgery and treatment can affect strength, balance, bone health, fatigue and confidence. Movement is adapted carefully around your medical guidance, treatment history and current capacity—whether you are maintaining movement during treatment or rebuilding afterwards.

Neurological change

Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and recovery following stroke can alter balance, coordination, gait, strength and energy. Clear, purposeful movement can help you explore what remains possible and progressively build greater confidence and physical capacity.

Bone health, balance and healthy ageing

Osteoporosis, reduced balance or a loss of confidence can gradually make life smaller. Appropriate loading, postural strength, mobility and balance work can support everyday independence and help you continue walking, gardening, travelling and doing the things you value.

Changing and complex health needs

Hypermobility, pelvic health considerations, surgery, prolonged illness, menopause and recovery following prostate cancer treatment may all require a more thoughtful approach.

When change affects more than physical function

Illness, treatment, menopause, prolonged pain and significant life changes can affect breathing, energy, confidence and your relationship with your body—not only physical capacity.

Movement Through Change explores this wider experience through breath-led movement, somatic awareness and carefully supported Pilates—helping you reconnect with your body before gradually rebuilding strength, capacity and trust.

Expertise matters. So does lived experience.

My approach is informed not only by extensive specialist movement education, but by my own experience of living with psoriatic arthritis. I understand that symptoms, energy and physical capacity can fluctuate—and that a body can need challenge on one day and greater support on another.

I bring together detailed observation, movement analysis and an understanding of conditions affecting the joints, spine, nervous system, bone health and recovery. Rather than following a fixed protocol, I adapt the apparatus, resistance, range, position and pace to the individual in front of me.

The aim is not simply to make exercise possible. It is to help you move with greater understanding, build useful strength and develop the confidence to participate more fully in your life—even when your health is complex or changeable.

Begin with where you are now.

You may arrive with a diagnosis, treatment history or rehabilitation guidance—or simply uncertainty about what movement is appropriate. We begin by understanding what has changed, how it is affecting your life and what you would most value being able to do.

From there, I can create an individual approach that respects your health while progressively developing movement, strength and confidence. If your symptoms need further assessment by an appropriate healthcare professional before we begin, I will say so and refer you back.
