SPORT & PERFORMANCE

Performance is never about one body part.

Whether you run, ride, swim, cycle, play golf or a racket sport, train in the gym or prepare for a demanding event, performance depends on how effectively your whole body works together. A restriction, compensation or poorly organised movement strategy in one area can affect power, efficiency and endurance elsewhere.

As your Movement Architect, I use tailored Pilates, detailed observation and movement analysis to understand the relationships shaping your movement. We can improve mobility where you need it, build strength into better patterns and translate those changes back into your sport.

The aim is not perfect symmetry or exercise for its own sake. It is a body that moves with greater efficiency, resilience and confidence—and supports the performance you are asking of it.

FIND YOUR ROUTE

Your sport asks something specific of your body.

The demands may differ, but the principle is the same: better performance depends on how effectively your whole body creates force, shares load and adapts under pressure.

ENDURANCE SPORTS

Running, cycling, swimming and triathlon demand efficient movement, effective load-sharing, recovery and resilience as distance and fatigue accumulate.

RACKET SPORTS

Support rotation, acceleration, deceleration and recovery across padel, tennis and badminton.

GYM & STRENGTH TRAINING

Improve mobility and control, understand how your body manages load and build strength on better foundations.

EQUESTRIAN PERFORMANCE

GOLF

Build a more balanced, independent seat and a clearer connection from your feet through to your horse.

Improve balance, rotation and force transfer to create greater consistency, distance and longevity in your game.

OTHER SPORTS & PERFORMANCE GOALS

Rowing, climbing and other activities place their own demands on the body. The work can be shaped around your movement, your activity and what you want to improve.

MY PERFORMANCE APPROACH

Observe. Test. Change. Retest.

I begin with what you notice: a loss of power, recurring tightness, uneven movement, fatigue, slower recovery or something that no longer feels efficient. I then look beyond the obvious area to understand how the feet, pelvis, spine, ribcage, shoulders, breathing and timing are sharing the work.

Using the Reformer, Cadillac/Tower, Chair and Barrels, I can alter support, resistance and load so that compensations become easier to see and better movement options easier to feel. We compare the two sides, test specific relationships and build strength into a more useful pattern.

Then we retest. Can the change hold when movement becomes faster, heavier or more complex—or as fatigue increases? The aim is not to perform Pilates beautifully in the studio. It is to move more efficiently, confidently and resiliently in the sport that matters to you.

PERFORMANCE IN PRACTICE

What changes in the studio must matter beyond it.

“Sarah focused on the underlying causes of the issues I was experiencing… My latest race was pain free from start to finish.”
